"A Mess in a Pretty Dress"

This painting is a form of recycling. When Octavious is working with precise shapes, there is always a point in time where the painting is finished, but he still has paint on the brush. In an effort to avoid wasting this paint, Jones will have a separate canvas to make gestural marks until the brush is dry. The result is this painting, a documentation of the artist’s pallet & attitude over that period of time.
